Continuing the Global Web research project, the focus of this assignment was on understanding how young people from Bangladesh connected to the web through mobile technologies. We studied their attitudes and mindsets towards content creation, and the behaviors surrounding locally generated content in Bangla.

This illustrated report walks through the findings of this study and our analysis for Mozilla’s learning products and programs.

About the Global Web Research Project

In 2014, Mozilla needed deeper insights into how the world would use the web-based content creation they were building. For the next three years, I led their research initiative and studied the way people use the web around the world.

In a series of studies in 6 countries, we spent time with communities using mixed research methods to uncover insights for our organization and partners. This project focused on understanding youth from all backgrounds, and their attitudes and mindsets towards content creation. Ultimately, this work would influence the design of Mozilla’s mobile product Webmaker.
